Spring might be my favorite season, and I have so many reasons why. The sunshine is so welcome after winter… There’s a feeling of renewal everywhere… And flowers are blooming all over town.
When I think about personal growth and rebirth, the symbolism is so clear and positive this time of year. It’s everywhere you look! So, let’s think about how you can learn from nature’s beautiful cycle and blossom into your brightest, best self.
  • Dig in the dirt. Before we get to the renewal process, we have to get rid of a lot of junk – just like nature uses winter to clear the decks before the explosions of life we see in spring. So, go ahead and get your hands dirty… pull up some weeds… find and protect your roots. You want to nurture your spirit and your psyche, so it’s primed for new life.
  • Plant new seeds. This is a wonderful time to try new activities and perspectives. What will grow, and what will simply not take root? It will be interesting to find out! No judgment. No excuses. Give yourself the freedom to explore.
  • Tend your garden. Everything needs sunshine and water to grow and thrive – including your attitude and progress toward goals. Get outside every day for fresh air and spring light, and take care of your body with water, exercise and rest.
  • Blossom with generosity and gratitude. It’s a simple fact that when you’ve done all you can do, it’s best to leave the outcomes to other forces (like nature). And when your heart is full of gratitude, you have more room for love and selflessness, spreading joy like another flower along the path.
If you follow these steps, I believe you’ll have an amazing spring and set yourself up for a spectacular summer, as well. We’re a part of the same nature as the plants, after all, so lock into that power – and grow!
