As you navigate the challenges of winter, remember it’s crucial to prioritize your emotional and mental well-being. It might take more focused energy to resist the urge to cocoon endlessly, but it’s totally manageable. So, take these handy tips for winter wellness to keep your nutrition, immunity, and self-care habits strong.

1.    Don’t Be Afraid of the Outdoors. Even in the cold, make a point to get some fresh air and, if possible, soak in some sunshine every day. A few minutes can make a world of difference.

2.    Get Sunshine. If that’s not possible, consider light therapy and Vitamin D supplements. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is real and can bring us down if we don’t get our sunshine somehow.

3.    Stay Hydrated. Don’t let wintertime trick you into thinking you only need water when it’s hot outside. Keep up the hydration habit all year long.

4.    Nourish Your Body. Opt for immunity-boosting foods. Load up on fruits, vegetables, fibre, ginger, turmeric, green tea, and plenty of protein. Avoid ultra-processed foods, and fuel your body with tons of vitamins and minerals.

5.    Keep Moving. Cold weather might tempt you to hibernate, but keep your body in motion. Whether through outdoor activities, gym sessions, Pilates, or indoor sports, staying active is vital for both physical and mental well-being.

6.    Cultivate Creativity. Discover a new hobby or revisit an old one. Engage in activities like painting, playing an instrument, baking, or writing a blog. A creative outlet is a powerful remedy for feeling lackluster.

7.    Stay Connected. Keep up your relationships at work and the studio, with friends, and with family. Have the birthday party. Go on the dinner date. Again, fight that urge to stay home under a blanket all the time!

Spring will be here before you know it, and we want you feeling great, and loving your best self – now and throughout the year.
