Have you ever had the experience of trying NOT to be seen?
Maybe you didn’t speak up when you wanted to, maybe it was trying to make yourself appear physically smaller, maybe it was giving into fear of judgement or being “too opinionated.”
If you can relate to trying to make yourself smaller in some way – from your body to your voice – I’m here to tell you that you SHOULD take up more space in this world!
You are here to be seen and heard, to create impact, and to speak your truth.
When we fail to do these things and show up for what we stand for and against, we inadvertently make ourselves smaller. We diminish our significance, and that, my friend, should never happen.
I actually used to do this with my business and how I truly felt about exercise and nutrition. My views are typically the opposite of what you will hear in mainstream fitness. I used to keep quiet for fear that people would not take me seriously or would mock me for my views.
I had an amazing mentor and coach who pointed out the value of my purpose in life. My goal is to awaken a life of limitless joy in others through movement and nutrition. The message I believe in is an important one as it helps so many people to step away from diet culture and fitness myths and into a love of themselves and movement. I have always given all the credit to my clients for their hard work and never given any to myself for helping them on their journey. I made myself small and insignificant.
In the coming months you will hear me speak up more and I’ll introduce you to some amazing projects I have in the works to truly impact our community and shift how everyone thinks about diet and exercise. I do have an amazing message to share and I hope you’ll join me on this phenomenal journey!
Can you think of a scenario where you made yourself smaller to make things more comfortable for yourself or for others? How would the BIGGER, more powerful version of you react instead? Which would inspire confidence and get better results?
I’d love to hear about what is coming up for you around this concept.
