Despite the popularity of the phrase “knowledge is power,” it couldn’t be further from the truth. Think about it. There’s more information available to us today than EVER before. There are aisles of diet and cook books in book stores and far more than that on Amazon, there are millions of free workout videos available online, and you can Google literally anything.
So why is it that despite all of this readily available information, people are becoming larger, less mobile, in more pain, and overall unhealthier? Well, I wish it was simple as just knowing. But it comes down to action and application.
If I know broccoli is better for me than potato chips, but I choose potato chips, my knowledge doesn’t matter at all. If I know sitting all day every day is aggravating my back pain, but I choose not to change it, again, knowing does me no good. It’s only APPLIED KNOWLEDGE that really makes the difference. And that’s the tricky part. That’s EXACTLY why people come work with us here at To The Core Pilates. They need our help to apply the knowledge we provide. Most people do in some area of their lives.
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve worked with over the years that are massively successful in their careers, have amazing families, and go on dream vacations, but the one thing they’ve been unable to get a hold of is their health.
