I was raised in Winnipeg where I participated in a wide variety of sporting events. I excelled in gymnastics, swimming and track and field. I was certified through the Manitoba Coaching Federation to coach gymnastics.

At the age of 18 I began Personal Training with European Health Spa and at the College Universitaire de Saint Boniface in Winnipeg while attending University.

I moved to Lloydminster in 1990 and began coaching gymnastics here. I am certified as a Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and have a Diploma from Mount Royal College in Personal Training. I have worked as a Personal Trainer at StressBusters and at the Common Wealth Centre.

Why the switch to Pilates?

Pilates operates on many of the same principles that I have used over the years teaching weight training. Emphasis on breath, posture, anatomy and proper technique are vital for goal achievement and injury prevention. Pilates is versatile and can be applied to any sport and individuals of varying fitness levels.

It was a perfect fit and I began my training at Calgary Pilates learning the STOTT PILATES® Method. Combining educational elements as well as practical learning provides the most well rounded instructors. I am STOTT Certified in Matwork and Reformer and currently teach at my studio and work locally with chiropractors, massage therapists and physiotherapists. I specializes in post-rehabilitation, athletic performance enhancement, and love to assist in my clients achievements and growth.

I have recently returned from Australia where I grew up in the country on the family farm. There, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a Sporting family, Community, and Culture. I spent much of my days playing Netball, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Tennis and more.

Since then, and after many injuries over the years, I have developed a passion for Soft Tissue Dysfunction, Injuries, and Human Movement.

After High School I moved to Melbourne where I studied Sports Therapy but realized that my love of physical treatment and assessment could better be utilized as a Myotherapist. I graduated in 2012 with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and Remedial Massage.

In Australia I worked with Elite and Amateur Football Teams as a Therapist and Sports Trainer and at the Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre alongside many practitioners and medical staff.

Eventually my desire to travel took ahold of me and I spent a couple years working and travelling, working as a therapist where I could.

On my return from travel, I began my Pilates Journey with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. This came about because I wasn’t feeling truly satisfied with the results many of my clients were getting. I was frustrated being unable to provide more of them with a longer-term fix. Short term was successful but I felt driven to achieve greater things with them. I hope to continue to grow as a Therapist and Pilates Instructor to help those within the community to live the full life, happier, healthier and pain free.

As a youngster I grew up with many siblings who all shared the love of sports that I do. I in turn began to love fitness more and more as I aimed to achieve the highest skill level in sport possible. I ran with siblings, did workout videos of HIIT training and Pilates with my sister, and always tried to challenge myself and others on my sports teams to achieve their goals.

As a recent graduate of the Fitness Leadership Personal Training Specialization, I am now a CSEP-Certified Personal trainer and an AFLCA Resistance Training leader dedicated to helping others reach their fitness and nutritional goals and to achieve the highest possible quality of life both in health and fitness. Through training I have come to love fitness and have developed a passion for enabling others to conquer life’s battles, challenges and dreams.

Young or old, small or big, I can help you to appreciate your body, and experience a better life, maybe that you didn’t imagine possible. I recently discovered my own need of Pilates a year ago, when even though I have stayed active my whole life, I began to experience low back and calf pain. I am very excited to plunge into Pilates and balanced nutrition and to help others to experience the benefits of a healthy body.

After over a year of Reformer I made the decision to make a lifestyle change and become an instructor! I love how Pilates has helped me and can’t wait to share all the benefits with others! I have completed my STOTT Matwork Training and will soon follow with Reformer and Injuries and Special Populations. I love the precision, control and coordination required with Pilates and how strong I feel. I’m looking forward to years of learning and improving to offer many options to our clients.
