“I’ve tried every diet out there and nothing works.”

“My doctor says I need to lose weight, but I just don’t have the willpower.”

“I tried XX diet but eating out with friends or socializing was just impossible.”

“I hate feeling like my life is always about food and feeling guilty for something I ate.”

“I tried to cut out (insert food group here) but I completely fell off the wagon.”

What if there was no wagon to fall off of?

What if you could socialize and still eat well?

What if you didn’t have to feel guilty about anything you ever ate again?

What if you could eat the foods you love and still be healthy and fit?

What if you could say goodbye to diets for good?

I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 25 years.  I’ve seen diets come and go and then come back again disguised as something new.  I’ve seen fat as the demon, carbs as the guilty pleasure and sugar as the ultimate detriment to our health.  I’ve seen every pill, powder and potion on the market and even experimented with some of them myself, so I would be better informed for my clients when they asked.  In fact, I tried a lot of things to be better educated over the years and you know what?  They were all a bunch of hooey!

We’ve been programmed to think of health in terms of quick fix weight loss instead of wellness.  The diet industry has created many unrealistic expectations around how quickly we should lose weight and that skinny is directly related to health.

The truth:

Your body size does not determine your level of health!

In fact, someone who is skinny can be unhealthier than someone who is overweight.  What you see on the outside does not determine the health of a person on the inside.  I know a great many women who are skinny but so unhealthy.  They are weak, inflexible and sick all the time.  I also know many women who are considered overweight, but they are never sick, have perfect blood profiles and can outlift and out move their skinny counterpart.

It is time for a shift in mindset.  A shift from skinny to healthy.  A shift from quick fix to long term lifestyle change.  A shift from eating to soothe the soul to eating to feed the soul.

We do this by changing our habits.  We change how we look at our eating habits.  We change our relationship with food.  We ditch the quick fixes, powders and pills and reteach our bodies how to eat.  We go back to listening to our bodies and following what we need as an individual instead of what everyone else is doing.  We remember that we are individuals with different lives, social obligations and lifestyles that need to be considered for success.  We return to being kind to ourselves and learn what makes us truly whole.
